In the centre of the building lays the key element of the exhibit: an impressive 1.000 m2 and 5.000 m3 tank with four massive 49 m2 (each!) acrylic windows on its sides. Smaller focus windows are strategically located around this tank, ensuring that the view to the Global Ocean is a constant component of the tour throughout the exhibit space.
Approximately 100 species from all corners of the Ocean peacefully share this gigantic aquarium. The water temperature is kept at a mild level, allowing for a relaxing coexistence of temperate and tropical fishes.
Its depth of 7 meters also creates a perfect opportunity for pelagic swimmers to swim far above the bottom dwellers, unfolding the illusion of the open ocean.
