The tour unfolds through two viewing levels, terrestrial and underwater.
The first depicts 4 coastal habitats: North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific and Tropical Indian.
The lower level features the same 4 habitats seen on the terrestrial level, and also 24 smaller focus tanks. These tanks illustrate the amazing diversity of species and communities in each habitat.
The visit unfurls in a unidirectional counter-clockwise circle, around the building, between habitats and the Global Ocean, in the centre.
This layout symbolizes a return to the past, to ages past where the Ocean played such a tremendously key role in the evolution and birth of life on the Planet.
While touring the terrestrial exhibits no barriers separate the public from the animals, allowing for an intimate contact to be established whilst strongly enhancing the arousal of senses such as hearing, smell, and emotion.
Light, sound and smell are delicately intertwined and follow the movement of various animals, rendering an astonishing and often surprising choreography lasting through the tour.
