Sounds in Oceanário create an intimate atmosphere between visitors and animals.Right at the onset of the tour, a plethora of background sounds transport visitors to another dimension. During the first few meters of the bridge connecting land to the exhibit space these sounds are typically terrestrial, gradually becoming more maritime with the characteristic squawk of sea birds, culminating with the unique pounding of crashing waves immediately before entering the exhibits hall.
Inside the building, each habitat resonates with sounds specifically recorded in that specific part of the World, such as the Azores Islands, Alaska or the Seychelles. Both animal and environmental sounds together conspire to deliver an intimate and penetrating experience.
