The main goal of this new project is to sensitize visitors to the current extinction crisis that amphibians go through and alert to the urgent need for changing our behaviour and conserve these animals, which are vital to the balance of ecosystems.

With 80 square meters, this space features several species of amphibians - frogs, toads, salamanders, newts and caecilians - from three continents and several countries as Portugal, China, Colombia, United States, Suriname, Mexico, Costa Rica and Vietnam.

Integrated in an area of singular beauty, this project aims to create an emotional connection with visitors and a sense of admiration for this group of animals, through a collection of terrariums representing natural environments around the world.

Each terrarium represents environments and ecosystems from all over the world. The quality of exposition is in line with the exhibit of the Oceanário, where the use of simplicity intentional of illuminated images, as a backdrop, in order to visually expand the living components of the exhibition.

All the exposed environments are organized in progression in order to show this critical period for the conservation of amphibians. The format of the terrariums and its location, remind a branch with several leaves, each leaf corresponds to an environment: "Moving waters” and "Still water," "Iberic Habitat," "Forest canopy” and "Forest ground."
