This small damsel does not grow larger than 10 cm. Its body is blue with a yellow caudal fin. However, when light shines on it directly it becomes very bright, which is why it is known as the neon damselfish. They mostly live among coral reefs, digging holes on gravel bottoms and using them as refuge or spawning grounds.
