The disco blenny lives in tropical waters where it inhabits coral reefs. It is a territorial fish, which, despite not measuring more than 8.5 cm, is carnivorous, and has well-developed lower canines to capture its prey. It displays sexual dimorphism, which means the males and females have distinct forms.
