Name: Twinspot damselfish, two-spot demoiselle
Scientific Name: Chrysiptera biocellata (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825)
Family: Pomacentridae
Group: Bony fish
Class: Fish
Size: 11-25 cm.
This fish owes its name to the two black spots on its dorsal fin. It is found at depths of up to 5 m, in lagoons and between reefs with coarse bottoms, where the females deposit their eggs. The males are dedicated parents who fearlessly defend the eggs until hatching. It is a popular species in aquariums because it is extremely hardy.
