Name: Yellow coral
Scientific Name: Dendrophyllia ramea Linnaeus, 1758
Family: Dendrophylliidae
Group: Anemones, corals and jellyfish
Class: Invertebrates
Size: 26-50 cm.
The polyps from yellow coral build impressive structures inch by inch. As years go by, these structures may reach over half a metre. The yellow-orange look of the stump contrasts sharply with the pristine white polyps and makes this a fantastic animal to look at. Their branches grow in all directions, making these animals look like light sticks.
