Name: Giant spined star
Scientific Name: Pisaster giganteus (Stimpson, 1857)
Family: Asteriidae
Group: Sea-stars, sea-urchins and sea-cucumbers

Size: 51-100 cm.
This species is clearly discernible by the blue ring surrounding each thorn. Remaining colouration may vary.
