"Urban Ecosystems", with Jochen Scheerer

Jochen Scheerer is the guest speaker for the next Human Habitat Lecture. His lecture will address challenges and solutions in water stressed urban environments, exploring the possibilities to recover natural water cycle at local level for urban resilience.

Jochen Scheerer is a biologist specialized in decentralized water and wastewater treatment. Based in Barcelona, he develops water management strategies and treatment solutions focused on the sustainable use of water as a crucial resource for life, combining natural and technological processes.

His solutions are holistic and make the most of the hydraulic, energetic, climatic and nutrient qualities of water.

Scheerer is cofounder and managing director of ASEPMA, an environmental management and water treatment company. He is also an international consultant for public and private sector in cities like Barcelona, New York, Brussels and Santiago do Chile, and he collaborates with various universities and research institutions, as well as EU research projects.
