Blackwedged butterflyfish

Biology

The blackwedged butterflyfish inhabits lagoons and areas of rich coral growth, up to 15 metres in depth. Juveniles hide in crevices, but the adults, like other species of butterflyfish, can be seen in pairs or small groups that may contain as many as 20 individuals.

Conservation

Habitat degradation is the main threat to this species.
