Leopard moray

Biology

The leopard moray is quite common in coral reefs and rocky bottoms along tropical waters. It may become extremely aggressive when disturbed. Sharp teeth cover its mouth and the lower jaw does not shut entirely because it is slightly curved. It feeds on fishes and small cephalopods.

Curiosities

Although they may appear threatening, their mouth remains open so they can force water over their gills to breathe.
