Fish-eating anemone

Biology

This anemone is a solitary species that can reach very large sizes. It has a long red column, decorated with a crown of white and red tentacles. Its name comes from its ability to feed on small fish, complementing this diet with a great variety of invertebrates, including other anemones.

Curiosities

Although this is a fish eater anemone, there is a small fish, the painted greenling, that seeks shelter and protection among its tentacles.
