Common polypody
Biology
The common polypody is an evergreen plant whose leader-like leaves, divided in leaflets, exhibit distinctive pimply undersides. Those structures are the spore-bearing organs - the reproductive bodies. This species can be found in shaded locations, in the cracks of rocks, at the bases of trees and in rocky undergrowth. This polypody can grow to about 30 centimetres high and can cover large areas.
Curiosities
This is an extremely versatile plant that can be found at altitudes of up to 2000 metres.
