Genus of conifers of the Cupressaceae family, containing between 50 and 67 species of shrubs and medium size trees, characterized by a robust body, durable wood and, in general, great longevity.
Curiosities
The strobili - reproductive structures - are similar to a fleshy berry, usually blue in colour, and used in cooking and production of distilled drinks, such as gin.
